Tuesday 17th May

Yesterday when I met up with jacinta she gave me the book "Simplify Your Life" as I'm the first person on this ring. I had a pretty rough night last night and couldn't sleep (blocked up runny nose lol) so I managed to read the whole book. I was a little disappointed though, but there were quite a few tips that I'm gunna adopt.....

1. Reduce The Clutter In Your Life: They say to throw out anything you haven't used for a year, but I'm gunna go one better and not only through out stuff I don't use, but stuff I don't like as well.

2. Buy In Bulk: I've been promising to do this for years. It saves money and time!

3. Move To A Smaller House: Well, as I'm gunna be doing this anyway, it was nice to read that it will actually benefit me by making me more ruthless with clutter.

4. Build A Simple Wardrobe: Ahhhhh...now this is a good idea. I really do have too many clothes.

5. Turn Off The TV: Now this is gunna be hard but I'm gunna really try.

6. Take A Vacation At Home: I've always been a big fan of doing this and what with moving, I don't think we'll have chance to get away anywhere this year so we'll spend the time relaxing and doing the odd bit of DIY or gardening.

7. Get Out Of Debt: This is gunna be a long term goal I think!

8. Simplify Your Eating Habits: Cut out the junk food and eat more fruit and vegetables. Simple, wholesome food.

9. Make Water Your Drink Of Choice: My kids drink water all the time (because I refuse to buy squash as they will get through a bottle in a day), but I drink a lot of coke, tea and coffee. This I think is very achievable.

10. Keep A Journal: Well, here it is!

11. Review Your Life Regularly: I spose it's quite easy to slip back into your old ways....

Well, not brilliant, only 11 things out of 100.....but still a lot for me to concentrate on. I'll add some of these to my 43things list.

I spent most of the day shivering (think I've def got flu) and making cups of tea for the builders. Did manage to nab the laptop again so I didn't feel that cut off.

Left at 5pm to make my way to the BOSH bash in Reading at The Great Expectations. Missed my turning for the M4 (as usual) and arrived just before 7pm. WistfulDragon was already there and we were shortly joined by bonjella (at her first meet up). Final turnout was; me, Wistful, bonjella, SwanOfKennet, Molyneux, rahar109, KleptoKitty, chelseagirl, zb, hapireada & jenatleisure (who brought with her a Birfdee pressie for me of chocolate & bubble bath....what a lovely surprise!!!!!)

We did a bit of a pub crawl and went up to the Retreat where we left some books in the OBCZ.

Was loads of fun in the car park with BCers acting like vulture in Molyneux's boot. I came home with 3 boxes of books plus some stragglers that were left over from the meet. I'll be doing the BC Relay over the next 2 weeks (distributing books). Finally got home at just after midnight (as the M25 was down to 1 lane and then they had closed the junction I needed to come off so I had to go further on and turn round).

I didnt actually read at all today :o( I just fell in bed as i was absolutely shattered!
