Saturday 28th May

Had to get up early this morning for the trip up to Birmingham for the Meet Up at Hudsons....Just had to check my e mails before i left though and there was a really nice one from WistfulDragon, thanking me for the little box of goodies i sent her for her Birthday.... Apparently she had a really nice day!

I went to the Birmingham Meet Up. Traffic was terrible, but Hudsons was really easy to find once i got there, and parking was brilliant! I was there first but it gave me chance to order some food and manage to eat most of it before everyone else arrived. It's a lovely place, and the food is brilliant......

Met lots of lovely bookcrossers who i hadn't met before (which was nice) and it was great to see LyzzyBee and Matth3w again (they sure have been missed from the London Meet Ups). I managed to go and have a look at their new house, which is lovely!!!! I gave LB 2 boxes of books but then Molyneux gave me 3 boxes, hmmmmm....i never was any good at maths LOL I got home at 9pm to loads of e mails (57 i think) so I've spent most of the evening trying to get up to date with all that whilst eating pizza that BB ordered for me!

The diet has NOT gone very well today....probably due to the Tiramisu i had at Hudsons and then the Pizza Hut Pizza at home, but I'm still off the coke (which I'm really beginning to miss) and I've now managed to cross a couple of things off of 43things....so now im off to do that......

Friday 27th May

I'm a bit late in writing this up as I've been out all day....

I cant remember what i had to eat at all yesterday, my brains a bit dead LOL.... I know that it was ok diet wise though....

Pretty boring day really, apart from the fact that we are now the proud owners of a laptop!!! Much to the kids delight! I actually spent most of it on Book Crossing sorting out all the piles of books i have that seem to be spreading all over the house LOL

I think I'm gunna abandon my list now as I'm doing really well with it. Will go on 43things and update it.

I did find a brilliant web site (well, actually i was directed there by someone on BCUK).........
http://www.doshtracker.co.uk/ I've joined up as caffcaff but haven't had chance to register any notes yet.

Big Brother started tonight.....Don't really know what to make of the housemates just yet, but it's great having it back :o)

Thursday 26th May

Today has been a very stressful day :o( At 7.30 this morning DS1 pushed DS2 and he tore his arm open on the newel post of the staircase. It was pure bedlam!!!!! DD screaming and crying, me trying to phone BB who had already left for work, blood everywhere (on my beige carpet down the stairs) DS2 going into shock....... I was pulling my hair out!!!!

I had planned to go out shopping with a friend, so i called to cancel that. BB got home and took DS2 straight up the hospital. He rang me about 1/2 hour later to say they had been told it would be a 3 hour wait! So i decided to call back my friend and go out as intended (well, come on, i needed a break and she had promised to buy me lunch as a birthday treat!). BB & DS2 ended up getting home about an hour later.... He'd had 4 stitches and 4 local anesthetics!!! DS2 just wanted to sit on the sofa feeling sorry for himself (he wasn't in any pain due to the locals) so i decided to go out to try and chill! LOL

Had a lovely lunch and look round Bluewater, although i didn't take any books to release...can you believe it!!!!!! All the stress and agro of the morning, i hadn't had chance to sort any out :o(

The diet went ok i spose LOL, 2 cups of tea, 2 cups of coffee (all with milk and 2 sugars), a ciabatta with bacon and cheese in for lunch, lots of water, 2 plums, a piece of shortbread with some nuts, and for dinner a prawn salad with avocado and brown bread.....

I went to DD's school open evening only to be told that there are no problems and that she's getting on well (i often wonder why i bother). Was suppose to go to a committee meeting for the charity im on the board of, but i was a bit concerned about leaving DS1 & DS2 alone together (after this morning) so i rang to say i probably wouldn't be able to make it. Popped out to the supermarket and when i got back the kids told me the chairman had phoned and that the meeting was cancelled, so im a bit confused about that..... will look into it later.......

Spent the evening on the net trying to find out about parking in Birmingham LOL, as I'm going to a Meet Up on Saturday and trying to catch up with all the BCUK mail I'd had throughout the day LOL

So how did i get on with my list??????

1 Start the diet Ok, so I've not been brilliant, i admit, but i have cut down and i have been trying LOL
2 Take care of my skin I have been doing this and getting into bed all sticky every night, much to BB's amusement
3 Start de-cluttering the house Well, i didn't really have a chance to do this :o( BB brought me home some boxes as i hoped that would help me get motivated, but it hasn't.
4 Start selling some stuff on eBay Didnt manage to get any stuff on eBay today, i will def put something on there tomorrow
5 Organise my wardrobe BB still hasn't got my summer clothes out of the loft :o( Cant really do any more until he does.
6 Walk regularly Well i did spend 2 hours walking round Bluewater, so in my book, that counts ;o)
7 Try out new recipes Nope, didn't do this today
8 Stop drinking coke I'm still coke free!!!!!!!
9 Floss every day Oh dear, i knew there was something i forgot LOL
10 Take vitamins daily Yep, i did do this..... I'm struggling remembering though LOL
11 Make to do lists every day I didn't do this tonight, but only because i couldn't think of anything i really needed to do LOL

I sat and watched the Big Brother Hype this evening.......oooooo.....cant wait for it to start! Was pleased to see that Brian won Best Big Brother House Mate (the public voted)....

I ended up falling into bed at about 1 after dosing DS2 up with pain killers lol

Wednesday 25th May

Diet today: cup of tea (2 sugars & semi skim milk), bowl of Kellogg's Crunchy Nut cereal with 10 extra nuts added (hazel & Almond), 1 small banana, for lunch 5 Oatcakes with cream cheese smoked salmon pate, I small plum. For dinner, 1 chicken thigh (cooked a recipe Piquant Chicken) with saute sweet potato, butternut squash, peas and French beans. For snacks I've had a pear and another banana......

I received my books today from Amazon that I ordered using LyzzyBee's Voucher she gave me for my Birthday (THANK YOU!!!!). I got 2 Robert Goddards, Anthony Worrall Thompson's Gi Diet Cookbook and The Gi Diet from Rick Gallop.

I've spent most of today reading the Anthony Worrall Thompson book. Basically the Gi diet works on the principle that eating foods with a low GI are better for us as they are digested slowly by the body and keep our blood sugar at a medium level for longer and therefore making us feel satisfied and less hungry. Will tell you more when I know more LOL

Tigzz (the cat, not the DD) went out the garden for the first time today.....he loved it!!!! When DD finally got fed up sitting out there keeping an eye on him he spent the next half hour crying at the door :o( I'm hoping that as I've got 6 foot walls all round my garden, we can manage to keep him in...yeah, we'll see lol

I released 10 books today, all Weebly Westerns LOL..... did get a catch and they joined!!!! http://bookcrossing.com/journal/2810378

So how did I do with my list today then LOL....

1 Start the diet It went pretty well today :o) I'm quite happy with it....
2 Take care of my skin I'm off to do that in a minute.
3 Start de-cluttering the house Motivation is a big problem for me at the moment :o( BB brought home some boxes tonight though, so I might actually be able to do something now!
4 Start selling some stuff on eBay Hmmmm...didnt manage to do this today, but then I really need to de-clutter to come across stuff I want to sell lol
5 Organise my wardrobe Ahhhh...well I blame Jacinta_in_Kent for me not doing this today lol
6 Walk regularly Ok, I meant to, I really did......
7 Try out new recipes I cooked Piquant Chicken tonight which went down really well. Another one from the BarBQ book i've been using recently.
8 Stop drinking coke Still not a drop has passed my lips!
9 Floss every day Done that this morning, but its still hurting a bit :o(
10 Take vitamins daily Done! Still forgot to get the kids to take some.
11 Make to do lists every day I wont be doing one tonight as i'm out shopping tomorrow so wont be here to do anything anyway! lol

I had a call from Jacinta_in_Kent this evening so I spent a great couple of hours chatting about books, BC and stuff! Jacinta was implying that I talk a lot...do I??? I wonder why she thinks that lol. Liverpool were on TV playing the European Cup final so BB was in the living room shouting and screaming. So having Jacinta phone was very welcome!!!! Liverpool won (thank God) so BB is on a high at the moment...or could that be the 8 cans of lager he's drunk ;o)

Tuesday 24th May

The Diet Today: cup of tea (semi skim milk, 2 sugars), breakfast - 1 nectarine, bowl of Kelloggs Crunch Nut Flakes with semi skim milk, cup of coffee (2 sugars, semi skim milk), lunch - banana, 10 SunSweet Prunes & Muller Light yoghurt, 4 glasses of water......... But then.....things went a bit downhill LOL, I had a Chinese Takeaway :o( which seemed like a good idea at the time LOL and it probably would have been ok if I hadn't had the sweet and sour pork balls! LOL

I had a really boring day today, spent most of it trying to sort my PC out, it's in a right mess thanks to my DD!!!!! I can't even use google without it transferring to another site. I wanted to put another item on eBay, a picture that I have but I cant find out any info on it on the net. Its a Pears Print in a frame that BB bought for me about 5 years ago. Cost him £150 and the label on the back says it was framed by a company in London in the 1880's. Trouble is,i don't know any more about it. The more i tried to find out info about it the more i decided that perhaps i didn't want to sell it after allLOLl

So lets see exactly what i did accomplish that's on my list:

1 Start the diet Well, it went fairly well...to a point

2 Take care of my skin Now i did do this, i smothered myself in body lotion from head to foot and got in bed all sticky. I also did my face.

3 Start de-cluttering the house I just dont know where to start :o(

4 Start selling some stuff on eBay I did try, it's just that i managed to convince myself that I didn't want to sell the item anymore LOL!

5 Organise my wardrobe I did it,i did it!!!! Sorted out all my winter clothes, got 2 black bags to hide somewhere now. Next step is the summer clothes and shoes/boots.

6 Walk regularly It did nothing but rain today, so this was a no goer :o(

7 Try out new recipes Well,i cant do this every night surely, will probably do another one on Friday

8 Stop drinking coke 2 days now without Coke...YIPEE!!!!!

9 Floss every day So far so good!

10 Take vitamins daily I managed to remember, but forgot to remind the kids toLOLl

11 Make to do lists every day I didn't do this last night, but only because i was shattered and really wanted to read a chapter of my book

Sorting out my wardrobe i ended up with a black bag for the charity shop, no doubt I'lll end up with 2 by the time I've finished LOL!

I started reading The Service Of Clouds by Susan Hill, seems pretty good so far. My GI Diet book arrived from Amazon, soI'll be having a read of that now too. I've sort of given up with the Sixteen Pleasures at the moment, it just seems to be a bit slow......

I've really got to pull my finger out and sort the house out now as we want to get an estate agent in next week. Trouble is, the house next door but 1 has now gone on the market so will be 3 houses in a row now for sale when i put mine on. I'm a bit worried about that as i think people are gunna be wondering whats wrong with this road lol

Monday 23rd May

TODAY'S THE DAY......The Diet begins!!!!!

So far today I have had a cup of tea (2 sugars, semi skimmed milk), fresh fruit salad for breakfast, 2 glasses of water, 2 slices toast (scraping of butter) and 1/4 can baked beans, 1 small banana...

I've been to Lush and got some stuff for my skin so that's all sorted, I haven't had any coke (I haven't got any here anyway), I've had a fair bit of walking (going round Bluewater), I'm trying out a new recipe tonight, I'm doing some decluttering this afternoon, along with putting something on eBay for sale, I haven't taken my vitamins yet, but I will do and I will floss tonight before I do to bed. I did do a "to do list" last night and my wardrobe is being attacked tonight ;o) So all in all, things are going well! So far...........

Ok, so things didn't really go according to plan LOL The diet went quite well. For dinner I had Danish Patties, with new potatoes, peas and spinach (I got the recipe from The Book Of Salads & Barbecues - http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/2625915/caffcaff/book_-Salads-&-Barbecues-Ted-Smart ), drunk only water all day, had 2 oranges when I got hungry at about 9.30.....but...... I did have a piece of chocolate shortbread after my dinner as I really craved something sweet..... I'm gunna have to sort something out about that, what to have when you crave CHOCOLATE!!!! As regards to the rest of the list, LOL:

1 Start the diet Well I did do this

2 Take care of my skin I didn't put on any body lotion before bed but I did use Buffy in the bath and exfoliated my face

3 Start de-cluttering the house Oh dear, this didn't happen at all :o(

4 Start selling some stuff on eBay Ah, now I did put 1 item on eBay

5 Organise my wardrobe Hmmmm...another one that didn't get done

6 Walk regularly I did go to Bluewater

7 Try out new recipes The Danish Patties were really nice

8 Stop drinking coke I've been Coke free for 24 hours

9 Floss every day I did it I did it....made my gums bleed though LOL

10 Take vitamins daily My only excuse is that I forgot :o(

11 Make to do lists every day I did think about this, but couldn't think of the things I needed to do! LOL

I was intending on spending the evening sorting out my clothes, but decided to go and release 8 books instead! LOL The kids have completely wrecked their PC so I spent a lot of time last night looking for a laptop. Have now ordered one. Really need to sort out what I'm going to do about my machine :o( tigzz has been using MSN on here and god knows what she's been downloading but I've got spyware coming out of my ear oles!!!!! Will get myself a laptop when we move so hope this machine holds out til then......

Netstation (on BC) did a bit of winging yesterday so BigBoss and tigzz ended up being able to fly (BB has now got his first set). BCUKers had to nominate, so thank you to those that nominated us :o)

Sunday 22nd May

Another early start.....and on a Sunday!!! BB wasn't impressed LOL.

This morning at 9.30 me, BB & tigzz were at a boot fair. I wouldn't mind, we really should have been selling! I resisted buying any books (SHOCK HORROR, GASP!!!!) and it topped up that all we really came home with apart from food was some dog treats! LOL I saw loads of stuff I would have bought, but I was reluctant to with the move on the horizon. I might of even bought some plants if it wasn't for the fact that I was thinking "what's the point..."

Spent most of the day feeling really crappy (STILL....It's grinding me down now). Oh, I do have a new symptom LOL.... it hurts when I chew and one side of my face aches. I think it's my sinuses, they're suffering now as it has been a week since I was able to breath out of my nose. Saw on TV today about Hayfever starting soon. I'm like, oh great...knowing my luck I'll get rid of this bug and then get that! LOL

I did manage to wild release 10 books at the boot fair. My PC's been playing up all day which I discovered this morning when I tried to do release notes for the books. Finally managed to do those 2 hours fater I got home and then spent the rest of the day trying to get my machine sorted. I've nearly got there, just a few probs with G Mail now or IE...dont know which.... When I was finally able to get to my mail this afternoon I was pleased to see that one of the books had been caught!
http://bookcrossing.com/journal/2807134

Tomorrow is the big day!!!!! The Diet begins! I am not looking forward to it one little bit, especially as I've not been eating much as it is being ill all week :o( So I've not even had the luxury of being able to scoff my face in preparation. I've also promised myself a few other things will start tomorrow http://www.43things.com/people/view/caffcaff

1 Start the diet
2 Take care of my skin
3 Start de-cluttering the house
4 Start selling some stuff on eBay
5 Organise my wardrobe
6 Walk regularly
7 Try out new recipes
8 Stop drinking coke
9 Floss every day
10 Take vitamins daily
11 Make to do lists every day

So I think I'm gunna be a busy little bunny tomorrow, so I spose I better get to bed and get some sleep..... Will let you know how its gone tomorrow night

Saturday 21st May

Another weekend day where i had to get out of bed at the crack of dawn :o( Had to take tigzz down to Bexhill On Sea to have a fitting for her bridemaids dress. My brother is getting married on the 18th of June and tigzz is one of the 5 (i think?) bridesmaids. Unfortunately, we didnt get to see my future sister in laws dress, but tigzz was thrilled with hers. They've got to make a lot of alterations to it as it's strapless, and as she's got no bust to hold it up...... lol, you can imagine cant you ;o)

I know i really should have popped in on my mum before coming home (she lives in Hastings) but i was still feeling pretty crappy and wouldnt even have been able to have a cuppa incase it set my stomach off again, so we came straight home and i spent most of the afternoon reading sections of The Story of V outloud to BigBoss lol..... http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/2614500/caffcaff/book_-The-Story-of-V-Catherine-Blackledge

We made sure we had some beer (for BB) and wine for the evenings entertainment ahead! lol Yes, i know we're very sad, but i'm afraid we do actually watch the Eurovision Song Contest lol. In the 21 years i've known BB i think we've only missed it twice.......... I think its the comments by Terry Wogan that make it even funnier! This year he was on top form, and damn right nasty a couple of times. Greece were the favourite to win. I knew we wouldnt get anywhere, i thought that song by Jevine was crap, i preferred the one by Jordan lol. Perhaps we would have got somewhere if we'd entered her!!!! Anyway, i voted for Malta & Russia and BB voted for Switzerland. Malta did end up coming second, but Greece did infact win :o( I was really pleased to see some "rock" type songs in there, which makes a change and was hoping one would win, unfortunately most of Europe is still into "pop" in a big way.....

Went to bed feeling like death, knowing that i'd got another early start to look forward to.... My blocked up nose and various other symptons are beginning to really get me down.... I think i'f i'm no better by the middle of next week (which will be 10 days) i'll have to book myself into the Doctors for an appointment...... that is, if i can get one!
